Maybe many people said that work in shipyard is the destiny. It's may true and may be false.
Along this way, i have seen that so many people can life with this work. maybe they avoid the dangerous result of this job. Health, accident, and small salary. Safety is the aswer.
Shipyard must have the safety department, but safety is us. we have responsibility to guard our safety. Safety firt!
Second, we have to archive our skill in shipyard, as a marker, fitter, welder and others.

In Shipyard, workers build and repair such vessels, and various specialties ranging from marking fitting, welding, painting, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, architecture and engineering

Shipyards also clean, repair and paint hulls. This is usually done in dry docks or marine railways. Dry docks are floating docks that sit in the water. When a ship is floated into the dock, air is pumped into ballast tanks beneath the dock, causing the dock and the ship to rise out of the water. Marine railways sit on the edge of the water. Ships are attached to steel cables and pulled out of the water up on to shore. In both cases, hulls are cleaned by high and low pressure water guns, and by sand blasting. Painting of ship hulls is done mainly with spray guns.

As a marker, this person will start to mark lines based on the drawing that order by engineering. That why, he will have so many drawing. It’s mean he will match with drawing, and jobs

Then, as a Fitter, they have jobs to fit frame or items following the lines that have marked by Marker. Continued by Welder to weld part off fabrication that have fabricate by fitters.

This jobs will supported by other department, such electrical, mechanic, carpenter. Any way it’s all depend on shipyard company needed.

What next? Is it finish?

Not yet. So many term will consider and follow, they have many procedure to make sure the quality of welding, blasting, painting , and must approve by owner.
